Track times 1/8 miles

hey guys i took the slowmaro out to piedmont dragway and i got to make 3 time runs here as follows also was on street tires with pump gas base timing is 10 degrees

first pass

60FT 2.764
1/8 10.855
Mph 70.06

Second pass i let the air pressure down in the rear tires to 30 psi from 45 on the first pass

60FT 2.230
1/8 9.832
Mph 69.30 left the car in drive.

Third pass i left the air pressure in the tires @ 30 and done a harder burn out

60FT 2.109
1/8 9.799
Mph 69.78 also just left the car in scond through out the run.

mods are in the sig. the chip still need tuning. It's a AUJP with the INJ constant changed for the svo 24 lber's and the fan turns on @ 100 C other than those 2 changes it's a stock prom.

should i be happy with it or dissapointed?

Seem slow to me.... I did the same times with a stock 88 GTA with a 305 TPI... GTAa are heavy... You seem to have a 350 so something is wrong I think.

thanks

well i know it's slow but i was wondering what the norm is for these cars with the mods i have.

i'm thinking the 2.73 is hurting it bad.

It's all about getting to know your car and learning to launch properly. Try to get that 60' down below 2.0. If your car is healthy then it shouldn't be a problem, just a matter of practice.

my 1/8th times look like this
60' 2.07
1/8 9.52
mph 73.18

with a stock L98 and 3.27 gears. also DA on that day was something like 5800ft. i would have thought you would do a little better than that because our track sucks.

I agree on the 60fts. I was cutting low 1.90's all stock(jcwhitney 3" cat-back) 245/50's. have to find a slip to remeber 1/8 times...something like 9.50, maybe 9.48...I know 1/4 times were 14.70 @ 96

yeah i would have too but the car didn't spin the tires at all on the last pass and i left the line @ WOT and the car bog down

i think the reason your car run that well was because of the 3.27 gears.

the 2.10 60 ft was all it was able to net me driving it like i stole it

how did you launch it? i just go from about 1000rpm and put it to the floor and hang on! also, it seems like i got better times letting the car shift itself, rather than trying to do it.

that seems incredibly slow for what it is

My car completely stock except msd ignition ran

1/8 8.987
60 ft 1.89
mph 77.64 mph
1/4 13.989

3.27 gears

165,000 miles, dry rotted michelin granny tires

launched at 1000 rpm then punch it about 3 ft out of the hole

ok

DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE A L98 WITH 2.73 GEARS

I GUESS YOU GUYS ARE NOT FACTORING IN THAT YOU HAVE A LITTLE BIT LOWER GEAR.

UNLESS YOU HAVE A L98 WITH 2.73 GEARS WITH ABOUT THE SAME MODS AS ME. YOU NEED NOT TO REPLY.

THE REASON FOR THAT IS I WANT TO COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES NOT APPLES TO PINEAPPLES

A 2.73 GEAR TO A 3.27 GEAR MAKES SOMEWHAT A DIFFRENCE IF NOT THEY ALL WOULD HAVE A 2.73 POSI IN THEM

SORRY TO BE ARROGRANT IN THIS REPLY.

Fuel pump

hey guys

got to checking some things today and with my fuel pressure gauge hooked up and when i got make a WOT blast the fuel pressure starts dropping and the car starts missing/ feeling lazy.
and the air/fuel gauge is shwoing like 14.1
so i'm thinking it's Fuel Pump time

also set my timing to 10d advanced also put in some autolite #23's base FP @ 43 psi and installed a ACCEL blaster coil

so mabe the car might be a tad bit stronger when i get a new fuel pump installed ?
