I was wondering if I could put headers on my 88 Iroc(350TPI) and eliminate my air system(smog pump)? Can I just rip everything out and be fine? Im not looking to spend lots of $ I dont have do to it either. I did it on my other camaro with TBI and I had no problems, but I know TPI is much more complicated. It has more computerization, if thats a word.

I also bought a HEI distributer for a carbeurated motor. It has a vacuum advance, but I dont know if I can put it in my iroc with tpi.
I was told that I would have to get a TPI distributer. Is that true or can I still use it?

 

stick with your stock dizzy, and yes, get the headers and never look back just leave the pump in and you don't have to get a different belt

 

I dont mind getting a new belt and what do you mean "stick with my stock dizzy"? What is a dizzy? I thought it would be better to remove everything because that way I would be removing all that weight
