Ok well I have a friend who has a 87 z 28 w/ no motor. He just came across someone who wants to sell their 350 TPI maf no cold start injector. They want to sell the whole engine plus all the sensors so it would be just a simple drop in motor swap which is also what my friends looking for. The engine has about 50,000 miles on it, and runs good from what we can tell. The guy is asking 2000 for it and my friend wants to know if that is a reasonable price or if not what is? welooked up crate engines in summit and for a carbureted 350 crate engine its about 3500, or 2500 for just the long block so we think this might be priced decently but were not sure.

 

FYI - for an extra $1700, Scoggin-Dickey sells a 360 HP, 416 TQ TPI motor (Part #SD360VTPI). You will still have to spend a good amount to get the remaining parts needed (sensors, etc). However, you will be getting alot more motor with zero miles!

I'm not promoting any company or part.

I'm just throwing a heads up to give you some perspective of what's out there.

I guess $2000 isn't bad... but that's getting into crate motor pricing territory.

2000 is deffinately not worth it. You can almost find whole cars for that much.

 

Id say $1,000-1,300.

For $2K you can just get a 350 block, have it bored, assembled, new everything.

 

I got a complete ( with ECM and all sensors and MAF ) 1988 L-98 for $700 bucks . $2000 is way to high !

i just bougth my tpi motor this year, it has been rebuilt, came with all sensors(brand new), computer, and a brand new painless wiring harness, it also came with 2 extra sets of stock runners, 3 extra plenums, 2 extra fuel rails and 2 extra sets of injectors. The factory wiring harness came in a box as well, but was all hacked up. I paid 1500 canadian dollars(aproximatly 1250 american). Oh yeah one of the plenums has been polished.

 

Way too much. You can find ones much cheaper on the classifieds on these boards.
