I'd say you could make your own setup and gain the ( so called) 20 horsepower..
There are a few different ways of making your own CAI. I've been scouting ways on my car for the past couple weeks.. Im thinking about cutting out the bottom air boxes and running like a dryer tube up from behind the fog lights so they gather cooler air..
and unless your doing 150mph the incoming air isnt going to "ram" down into your car to make it more, it is just cooler and more dense,<--Spelling?

i actually been finding out that K&N's restrict more air then they flow. theyre made for off road use mostly. i switched to fram filters and felt a pretty nice difference.
just my opinion though.

I like K&N's filter. I spent the money on my SLP air induction system for my Trans Am. The coffee can was a bad design if you ask me. Camaros had alot better set up.
I would go with the filter on the end of the Throttle body. But depends on what your looking for. I like the clean look of a motor compartment. But the stock set up is pretty nice too.
Keep us informed and take some pics!

Also don't put one on the end of the TB . It only has hot air to grab , so thats a bad idea. Looks tight though
Only if the guy doesn;t know who much oil to put on the filters . They flow more than a paper filter. They flow more than a paper filter.

I too thought about this subject for quite some time. Actually years. I decided to build an air intake rather than keep the stock intake. I had the ever restictive "y" intake. I, like many, decided to go to the local Lowe's and buy some rubber/pvc hoses and start building. It's a little tight and I havent had it on the road yet, but it seems to respond a little better. I can probably post some pictures if anyone cares to see. Anyway, felt compelled to post since I just went through this myself.
