Looks like he broke off the stock nexked down part of the air box where it goes into the rubber boot. Then plastic welded a piece of 3 or 4 inch round PVC to it.

 

Just looked at my car, I get it Cool. I'd do something like that but I got MAF. Might not work.

 

You're Right. It makes the neck a full round 3in opening. On the dyno it showed 9hp gain without tuning.

 

Good job! Ive thought about doing the same. Ive seen something similar done. The stock design is good just restrictive.

Good gain..How did you do it? How do you weld plastic? I thought about raising the roof also. I think i would have room with the ss hood. If not cuting and refiberglassing the area.

 

Anyone know if a mod like that would still work if you have a MAF ??

 

How do you get around the MAF, if possible?

 

I was thinking about using the holes where the fog lights are to route the air intake to the filter and then into the plenum

 

You can convert to Speed Density fuel management using a 1227730 ECM.. Hopefully what he did..
