ok heres the deal, I have a car that had bad injectors. I installed new 19 lb injectors from accell. put in new plugs and changed the oil( it was fuel contaminated). The car starts right up, runs great but it gets black smoke when I give the throttle a push. the exhaust smells rich. The service engine light is out and needs a bulb, so I will be installling a new one this weekend and get the codes out. I was wondering if anyone ever had a bad cold start injector dumping fuel while the car was running? I didnt have time to check the fuel pressure tonite to see if it is still leaking down. also the fan comes on when I turn the key on? that doesnt seem right. the aldl doesnt have a jumper on it for test mode so do you think it may be on limp home mode and the ecm is bad?

well, thats def Super rich one thing that works for me Because of a temp fix, because i believe myn is dumping fuel Unplug your MAf
Then unplug the cai, itll take a few cranks to start but it should fire up and idle because without the maf plugged in itll dump enough fuel to counter act the csi, if its still rich you must have some leaky injector or somewhat, hope this helps

im having the same problem with smoke after changing injectors.........is that a after market ECM??? did it work for you? where did ya get it? as for your fan(s) are they both coming on? i found two wires in the engine bay next to the a/c box a gray wire and a black w/white stripe wire are they connected together? if so try unplugging it and see if it stops...I'm not sure what to do next cause we are on the same page but it will give you a good place to start . If ya figure it out let me know too Good luck Damian

Let me guess?

The low resistance from the bad injectors fried the drivers?

If u still have it open it up and take a pick for us.

If u need more info hit the PROM board and search fro drivers and you should get a couple pics of what u would see smokes :-)

wondering if the EST modlue in the dizzy is bad? Or a bad O2? maybe the CTS sensor ?

problem solved

bad memcal, I picked up a 350 tpi complete tdy for my convertible the ecm was a 1227165 I swaped the memcal and it still was not going into diagnostic mode and the fan ran with key on. I threw the 350 memcal in it ran like **** but the ecm was able to do diagnostics. I guess you realy do need the right chip in it. anyone got a memcal for 87 305 tpi auto?
