got a set of vortec heads off a 97 350, im building a 350 for my 86 z28 tpi ho 305, basicly im on a really really strict budget lol so i cant fork out $400 for a scoogin dickey or street and performance baseplate any other ways to make the vortec heads work with my tpi intake or other head options other than the vortecs thanks!

none of the standard intakes will work with vortec heads because the bolt angles are different, and ports are different. If you're looking for another good bang for the buck head, you might want to look into World Products Torquer S/R heads. Summit has them for $760 a pair.

save your pennies, dump the tpi and order a stealth ram for the vortec heads.

I have a feeling you wouldnt gain much going to a Stealth Ram on your engine. Between that intake you get and if you get some high flowing runners it should be plenty of flow for the stock vortecs and be nice for the street.

yeah i like the flow numbers on those vortecs my boss works at buzzard racing so im gonna send the heads down there soon as i get my block back get a nice 3 angle valve job and ill match the rest of it at the shop i work at a nice cam and it shouldent be too bad for the little money im gonna end up putting in it atleast IMHO trading to blocks for the engine kit with forged pistons dont know bout the bump stick yet lol just being on a timeline sucks
