Congrats!
It seems that you don't hate your car anymore...
So tell me. Are your heads totally stock? Any machining to accomodate the higher valve lift?

I think that you can do some kind of measurement to see if there is a problem with the springs binding when the valve is open. I've never done it, but I'd bet that it's pretty simple.
I think that if you do have coil bind, the springs will eventually break. That could cause major engine damage if the loose valve gets pounded by the piston.... I'd hate to see that happen.
From what I've read it seems that stock heads really don't flow any better at .500+ lift than they do at .450 so I don't know that your'e gaining anything by using 1.6 rockers with that cam.
If it were me running that setup, I'd be running 1.5 lifters just to be safe. If you think that changing the cam was a lot of work, wait until you have to replace a ruined piston.... That's a complete tear down.

Sounds Awsome! I'm in the process of swapping my cam out also. I have a 305 TPI. I bought a 104224 crane cam. Its got 452/465 lift with 1.5 rockers. But I also bought new springs to match. Its going to be fun.
