best injector for my 305 tpi

hey,
I need help. One of my Injectors doesn't run and now I search for new one. What injectors should I buy? Are the cheap accel injector ok or should I buy some Multec MSD Injector? Can I use Ford Injectors. I want rise up the flowrate to 22 or 24 lbs/h Injectors.

AFAIK, a 305 needs 19 pound injectors. That's all it needs unless it's been highly modified. The stock injectors are great.

I put 21s in mine and I had to increase the spark potential and increase the air volume to take advantage

if you are stock stick with stock. unless you like to get worse gas milage and enjoy reaching around the exsaust manifold to get to your plugs

Stick with 19#'s as the car was originally equipped with.

If going to a larger 21,22 or 24# injector you will need to modify the prom as it will run rich, enought to peg your BLM at 108-112 with even 2 psi larger injectors.

For what its worth, Ford/SVO/Motorsports racing(whatever the hell they go buy this week) has 19#inj.

Stay away from Accell or Venom injectors

Thanks for the infos, but I don't know futhermore what kind of injector I should buy. The only thing is, I don#t buy any Injector from Accell or Venom.

If have found a bin "First Third Gen 300hp AUJP 48.5psi.bin" to modify my prom.

What was all that garbage you just said? not a word of it makes any sense, nor was it technically correct. Get your facts straight before you post on here answering people's questions. There is enough BS info floating around, we dont need more people spewing garbage. This site is one of the most technically correct and useful message boards on the 'net, lets keep it that way.

I have the Ford SVO 22# injectors in my 305, but it's not quite stock. You really should buy the 19# SVO injectors for a stock 305 engine.

I don't want to install stock 19# injectors, I want to have a little bit more. Is it true, that the Ford Injectors are rated at 39 psi with 22# or 24# or is the flowrate also based at 43.5 psi? The base pressure is importend for the right flowrate in the prom, because a 24# Ford injector has 25,35# in an 43.5 psi Chevy-System.

There's been much debate on this board about the flow rate of SVO injectors. It seems that many people here believe that they are flow rated at a lower pressure than the stock injectors that are used in our chevys. I'm not convinced that is the case.

I believe that the SVO injectors are flow rated at 43.5 psi. And I believe that Ford uses a fuel system pressure that is lower than 43.5 psi on the Mustangs.

I know that when I inspected the stock bin file on my car, that the fuel injector flow rating was set to 20.8 from the factory. And I think that most people on this board will tell you that a stock TPI 305 comes from the factory with 19# fuel injectors. So what does that tell you?

I believe that you can use either 19# or 22# SVO injectors in a 305 with no problem as long as you tune the car and burn a new PROM. I believe that you can use 19# injectors and raise the fuel pressure to 46 psi to get more flow and may run well on a stock engine with a stock PROM.

If you are going to try to get 300 HP from a 305 TPI you will need more fuel, and I feel that 22# injectors can get you there. This much power will require PROM tuning, an AFPR, better flowing heads, a different cam, and a better flowing exhaust as well.

PROM tuning is not required to get 300hp from a 305, nor are 22# injectors. I have the stock PROM program and the stock 19# injectors, but I do have all the other modifications you listed though. TunedPort335 is making at least as much power or more than me and he has stock injectors too, dont know about his chip though.

Based on weight, trap speed, and ET my car should be making between 290 and 310 hp. It with the coolant temp at 230* through my old automatic trans with 2800rpm stall converter I had at the time it put 230 hp to the rear wheels. I believe they use a 22% loss for a 700R4 trans. 230/.78=295 hp.

I will have ford 19#s in mine. The guy who did me a chip set the flow rate for 21#to 22# because he said they flowed about that much. I hope this is correct and they will work ok.

SVO are rated at 43.5 psi.

I got flow sheets to prove it and multiple installs where the math all works out and the injector constant set to the injector makes the BLM's drop into line.

Also the SVO are Bisch injectors, Bosch rates them at 43.5

Been there done that, the internet lets garabage be recycyled all to easy.

Accell injectors are garbage, along with all their other products, stay away its just easier.

If your staying stock put 19#'s in if your not, get over the fact that you will have to change the injector constant in the prom for best results.
