Has anyone had any luck in finding a supper ram??
Im at my wits end trying to find the supper ram plenum and runners
summit and jegs are on back order since april and I called accel's foundry over in michigan and they said that they arent even making the runners any more and havent found a new foundry to make them yet so ... i dont know how long they will take to straighten things out ... but if things continue as they are and i cant find one from a retailer's shelves I might end up having to go mini ram but i dont want to do this unless i my options are completely exhausted... if anyone knows where i can get one that is in stock ... I would be in debt to you!!!
I appreciate it !!

You should look around to other suppliers besides the big names. Check the for sale classifieds too. I got mine from a well known shop that had a set laying on the shelves. You may end up getting them cheaper like I did.

Just keep looking be patient took me about a year to finally snag one. Check the corvette forum classifieds. You see lots of them for sale there. Theres always the Lingenfelter site but they want and arm and a leg for them. Im not sure the lead time there though.

I checked ebay and they have one but it seems like it was butchered then epoxied back together
looks rather questionable
i called Lingenfelter themselves and they dont have any either
I will check those vette forums though that does sound like it might lead some where but outside of that its lookin bleek
thanks you guys for your input

Since you're looking at the SuperRam,,, if you're in a hurry and want to stay with the "tuned" runners, the FIRST Injections intake might work for you.
Products
This intake gave me near identical ETs compared to a StealthRam on a "400 horse" 355 and shifted at 5800rpm compared to 6400rpm for the StealthRam.

seems interesting
I will have to keep that as an alternative option since that super ram is rather illusive
my goal was to be able to flow my motor better than my stock tpi ltr setup especialy since im goin with the lpe 219 cam with first gen twisted wedge heads and about 10.25:1 comp custom je pistons i thought i would only be fitting to match it up with that accel supper ram ... so we shall keep trying

Coincidentally, my "400 horse" 355 is running a custom grind 218/228 Comp cam with G1 TFS heads,, but the compression is only around 9.8:1 with the heavy TRW slugs. I'm sure either the SuperRam or FIRST unit will put a smile on your face with your combination.

well then that does sound interesting
they do have egr provisions correct?
I wonder if there is any dyno numbers on with that mani on a 350
to see where the torque peeks vs where the horses peek with that setup you where mentioning..... hmmmm
the research continues
thanks Badss

ahh found it
http://www.firstinjections.com/image...e%20curves.jpg
seems as though it starts to drop around 5500 but looks like it delivers some healthy even power .. wish they disclosed more of what the engine components where during this comparison...
well its definately an option
thanks again

The box stock FIRST on the 355 in my signature pulls strongly to 6000, but the ETs show the best shift point to be 5800 for the 1-2 and 5600 for the 2-3 shift. 5600 shifts in 1st gear causes the 26x11.5 ET Streets to break traction because of the toque output at the shift recovery point. That's why the car ETs better by what feels like short shifting the intake 300 - 400 rpms shorter than what it feels like it should shift.
I've run three intakes on the car,, originally I fully ported a stock base and plenum and gutted a set of SLP runners. Shift points were 5500/5300 and traction was nonexistent (1.9/13.0/109.4mph). The torque peak for that intake was too close to the stall speed of the converter. The second intake was the StealthRam. It ET considerably better with the HSR, but that was because it rolled off enough torque that I could floor-board the thing right out of the gate. (1.8/12.7/108mph) The FIRST, is closer to the feel of the modified TPI, but the torque peak is high enough off the stall speed that I can get traction,,, although I have to do a serious burn out to get it to hook(1.7/12.6/107). Time are in similar weather conditions (high 80s) at the same track. Of the three I've run,, I like the FIRST hands down on this combination,, which is not geared very deep with the TH350's 2.53 first gear and the car's 3.23 rear.
There are a couple tight spots in the runners of the FIRST that when taken care of with a grinder will increase power and RPM potential - but I would not open up the rest of the runner any larger than cast for your application they're already right at 1.75 inside (not outside) diameter. From what I've seen in comparisons, the SuperRam puts out a little better top end, but the average torque and hp numbers from 2500 - 5500 are about the same. Still,, the FIRST can be taken out to monster sized ports if you cube up later on down the line. I'm in the middle of hogging one out for a 406 I'm building and have removed serious amounts of metal - the transition point looks a lot like an oval big-block intake!!!

It does sound like that first system does flow some good numbers
and has an egr fitting so if there is no luck finding that super ram, which is not looking to bright as of right now, i'll give those people at first a call
i did notice they offer a chromed setup too... it looks pretty sharp
I wonder if there is any problems with tall valve covers clearing the runners would be a shame if they got scratched up

any one with any leads?
I call some shops and they tell me that they can get them in 3-6 weeks but im not sure that that is even an accurate figure... i dont want to give them my money .... then wait and find out that they didnt even start with the process of manufacuring them then be out of a motor for another 3-6 weeks
oh you got to love it !!
anyhow any direction in terms of a vendor or private party would be more than great

show me those ports!!
Did you port that first system at all when you installed it on your 355?
I remember you where goin to compare the first with the stealth ram .... how did that stealth ram do?
thanks for your insight Badss

Here's a link to a lot of info I posted on the FIRST unit with ETs from the FIRST and the Stealth Ram. I've recently started back porting on the FIRST intake I'm planning for a 11:1 406 I'm going back through. This thing has a ton of metal that can be removed and the ported transition point within the intake looks more like an oval port big-block intake than one for a small block. I'll eventually get around to updating the post with pictures for the hogged out base, but most applications would do better with for less work than I've put into it.

There is a duplicate of FIRST link I posted above from the TPI forum in the Alternative EFI section. Here are pics from the intake I'm modifying for the 406 that is not in the link above,,,, that I posted last year,,, man,,, time flies by.

I finally got the other FIRST intake back from my buddy at the machine shop. He did a good job buiding up the intake flange area so I can open it up to match my semi-raised runner Dart 220 heads - the heads were off-set ported to a Felpro 1207 gasket. The FIRST intake will port out to a Felpro 1207 in it's regular location.
Here's a shot with the built up area as picked up and as finished.

I bought this FIRST unit off e-Bay and should have asked for pictures of his "gasket match" work. Damn,,, what a hack job. It was near ruined and if I wasn't using it on such a HUGE and odd set of heads,,,, it would have been junk (even still I'm not going to be able to get it perfect). So be sure to ask for pictures before you buy a "gasket matched" or "ported" intake.
Here's a shot of one set of ports before porting. Notice I had to get the floors welded up due to the guys hack of a gasket match.

Here are a couple ports after the initial rough cut. There was a ton of metal removed. Once I finish all the internal porting I’ll come back and actually “gasket match” it, so things will look a lot better when it’s completed.
