The EST is a tan with black stripe 1 way connector in the vicinity of the heater blower/ ac. It sticks out of a 1" diameter piece of convolute.

Try setting the timing the correct way with the EST connector unplugged :-)

If that doesnt help.

Set the engine to #1 TDC, install distrib pointing to #1, line up reluctor points to the points on the outside of the reluctor.

Should net u 6 degrees or very clost to it before u even fire it provide u find TDC correctly and index the distrib to #1 cylinder.

later

make sure your hooking the lead that goes to your spark plugs to the #1 plug.

But makes no difference if you dont have that tag that tells you your degees.
Almost have to do it by ear now.

its hard without those timing marks. My car ran, but it was way too far advanced. I moved it back to 8 degrees. It helps if you have someone there to help you keep the car at a steady RPM. I had to color my timing mark with a yellow marker so I could see it. It doesnt take much to bump the timing off. A 1/4" could mean a couple degrees. If you havent done it, Take out the #1 plug and get it to top dead center and start all over. At least that will give you a starting place.

i dunno if this is going to help you but i took a pic of my timing mark and maybe you can print it out and kinda estimate the angle/spot where your timing mark should go

a lil update i got it, and i think its on the money and then some cause i can floor it in first and it does a burnout like it used to

but it feels like its got alot more power!

it pulls alot harder from 3k+ now it used to basically fall on its face now its sweet i put 93 in it just incase it was too advanced or something-not sure if higher octane helps with pinging?

i got some shorty headers too so those to replace the manifolds and the 2in exhuats i should have a huge gain prolly

Did you check behind the water pump for the timing indicator?
