finishing the tuneup

Well my car has new plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filters, o2 sensor, thermostat, water pump, radiator, and fan switch. i have 216 dollars to finish the tune up left. So far ive decided to buy a msd coil and msd cap & rotor with the money. Then change the oil & oil filter (oil was fresh about 5 months ago but it sat since then) pcv valve, iac valve (cleaned the original one set minimal idle but still has a small surge), And finally the tps sensor. Is there anything i should add that i missed?

Hows your belt? Tranny filter? Rear end gear oil? I like to check my wheel bearings when I do a major tune up.

why are you replacing the TPS? is it malfunctioning? If it is working fine I wouldnt't mess with it. You can adjust the tps too, or at least check for proper adjustment.

Radiator hoses. Possibly heater core and hoses. Fix AC. Re-torque header bolts. Check tire pressure. Re-balance tires. Get alignment. Set base timing.

AC delco cap and rotor would be better IMO.

well im changing the iac because i cleaned it and set the minimal idle and it still has a slight surge. So i figured to might as well change the tps while im at it. Timing has already been set at 10 instead of 6 in advance and the tires are brand new.

That little bottle of additive isn't expensive, and it definitely won't hurt, so why take a chance without it? I'd use it. And if you get it from your local GM dealer, you can prolly get your gasket there too. But that gasket should be available through any parts store too, I'd think.

Get a distributor cap with brass terminals. I think MSD's has brass, but the ACDelco one prolly doesn't. Hypertech's cap has brass, and their coil is rated as being stronger than MSD, Mallory, Accel or GM. And it's all a perfectly stock fit.

Hey, for those of us with TPIs, check me on the order for setting up the motors tune...

1)verify EGR system is functioning properly
2)set idle speed (IAC controlled "minimum air") to 450rpm
3)base timing to 6 degrees BTC
4)set TPS sensor to .54-.56 volts

Is this correct?
