what cam?
hey all, i got the crappy stock cam in my 87 Iroc 305, what size cam do i need to really boost performance? would this work?

Since your car is an 87 that means it came factory with the hydraulic roller camshaft/valvetrain so essentially that particular cam will not be compatible. These are much more expensive (close to 300 brand new)!!Depending on how extreme you are wanting to get with your car i would check out the crane or comp computer compatible camshafts they will give you a description for what they think the power range is. Also since you have a stock tpi setup dont look to make power above 4500 rpms. remember this when looking at your cam

I have a 1987 Trans Am with the 305 TPI. I just installed the Crane cam 104224.
Some people know it as the Powermax 2032.
Ive had the car for 1 day so far. I love the way it sounds. I never really beat on it yet. I'm letting it break in a bit befor I really get on it. Remember to change the springs. And while your in there, it wouldn't hurt to change out those valve seals also. But for 1st hand experiance.....I like this one.
