I get a funny noise almost every other time i come to a stop. It sounds like a electric motor hum. it is coming front the engine bay and lasts 3-5 seconds then goes away. it will not happen if not moving. any ideas?/

at a stop your not moving,(no fun intended) dose this happen when your braking, or after you have stoped (the noise)

might be your electric fans? Does it do it all the time? Or just when its warm?
I have 2 fans on mine. 1 kicks on as soon as I start my car (my choice) Then the other will kick in I think at 180-220 range (never gets that hot)
Maybe you have a bad fan motor tring to kick on.

do you still have your A/C? Could be your compressor making noise clicking on and off?
I never heard a noise from a EGR valve.
Hummm....I wish I could hear it! LOL!!
