Car: '82 formula clone, 95 saab 900se
Engine: 350 vortec'd tbi, 2.0L turbo
Transmission: 700r4, 5 spd
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 2.77 open
is this going to work

so i'm putting an '86 tpi setup on my '89 lo3 but i'm worried about if my speedometer is going to work or not, the '89 has the electronic speedo but the '86's had mechanical speedometers right? is this going to work?

"86 Pontiacs have a VSS on the transmisison and an electronic speedometer. Where you might encounter a problem is in the signal buffer, since the '86 used an optical VSS and the '89 MAY have used the tachogenerator type VSS. The output rates may be different.

i forgot to mention that the ecm i have is from an '89 so if there is a connector on the harness far a vss, and the connector is the same between years than i probably won't have a problem right?

You may have to switch VSS sensors. I know on the 90-92 cars they are the same TBI to TPI but I'm not sure of '89. You might want to check out TPIParts.com, Angel is a great source of info on swapping TPIs, he should be able to get you the answers you're looking for.
