high idle ....
My car had an high idle before it got really bad it would idle at like 1100 rpms or so and now that I've cleaned out the intake plenm its idle goes up past 2100 rpms at start then goes down to like 1500 rpms. Any ideas why? I've checked the vac lines and the one on the throttle is cracked but I don't think it would cause it to idle this bad.

I have the same problem but it idles at like 1,300 which is still ridiculous. I have heard of dirty throttle bodies, and maybe a tps sensor being the cause but i would like to get down to the bottom of it. On mine i dont about yours but when i put it in Drive it goes back down to a manageable idle.

Yeh mine is really weird because it used to idle alittle lower than yours even after the t-56 swap but now after I cleaned the intake all out it went even higher and I can't figure it out and its worse on my car because I've got almost 200,000 miles on a stock motor and I need it to last a few more months before I get the new motor.

Sounds alot like a vacuum leak.......
Double check your work thouroughly.
Might have put the gaskets on the wrong sides of the plenum or not hooked up a vacuum line.

I fought this exact same problem in my car years ago. It dident matter if it was hot, cold, first start or anything. Sometimes it worked fine, then it would act up. After checking everything five or six times, I ended up having to replace the PCM itself. After I got the new computer, never happened again.
