Camaro Injectors

I originally bought some fuel injectors from ebay (i know big mistake) for 80 bucks and they were from a 94 or 95 350 camaro, but when i took the ones of my Z theyre are actually 1/4 to 1/2 longer than the ones i bought, i tried putting everything back on but they injector itself could only go about 1/16 of an inch inside the manifold, so should i go off and purchase some new ones?

I have LT1 injectors in my car right mow 24#. Just make sure you buy a new oring kit. I'd swap them all. The plug is the same where they hook up correct?

Yeah they were all hooked up ok, but the original ones are 1/4 - 1/2 inch longer and they wont go all the way down the hole where the old ones were if i leave them like that they are gonna create some type of vacuum and will make my car run like crap

Are you sure you have them down all the way? They do drop down....sort of snap into place. I lubed up the orings in mine and forced them down.

you did not press them in all the way yet then. Like said before they will "pop" into place. I wouldn't worry about the clips either, if you accidently strecht one it wil never seal or seat right.. I don't have any clips and I haven't had a leak yet.

Re: Camaro Injectors

I got a wrecked 89 5.7L iroc in my backyard, and i got an 88 iroc 5.7 that doesnt run, and i was wondering if it was possible to swap the intake manifold from my 89 to my 88 with injectors and everything even though my 88 has the cold start injector? if i can swap it, will it affect anything, or what would i need to do or buy? also my 89 has VATS but my 88 doesnt

Re: Camaro Injectors

I am going thru an L98 to LT1 injector swap right now.....

the difference in length from top o-ring to bottom o-ring is less than a 1/16th of an inch, with the LT1 being shorter....

the difference is in the nozzle below the bottom o-ring....i.e. the L98 actually had a visual nozzle, while the lt1 is much less pronounced...

I am going to install my LT1's later tonight, and I'll post up afterwards...

Re: Camaro Injectors

I installed my LT1's tonight....

they actually sit pretty far down into the holes, like the original LB9 injectors did...I did reinstall the retaining clips,also...I dont see how i will have a leak of any kind between the injectors and intake base, its pretty damn tight.......

mine are from a '96 impala ss...

Arts89iroc.....just use the '88 rails and you should be fine...

Re: Camaro Injectors

Yeah on mine i can see where the injector is spraying fuel into the engine, and thats not good at all, maybe tonight i can take pics of the old injectors compared to the new ones and measure them to see how much the difference is, and youre right the l98 injectors do have a larger nozzle on them

Re: Camaro Injectors

I'm wondering if you have LS1 injectors, not LT1's....

i had previously installed the LS1's. and I could see down past the injectors when they were installed, so I changed them out for LT1's...

if you can show a pic of your injectors, maybe i can tell what you have..
