Urgent!! High Idle after changing Fuel Injectors
I put new fuel injectors in my 305 TPI bird today, I upgraded to 24# injectors in light of doing some modifications in the near future. I finished everything up and started the car to get the computer adjusted to them. Immediately, the tach jumped to 3000 and stayed there and wouldn't idle down. I pushed the accelerator a tad to see if that had any effect, but it just increased the idle. I have no idea why this is now doing this. I didn't change the gaskets on the runners. I just reused them like I have done in the past. Could this be a problem? This is driving me insane, because this car is my daily driver, I have been without it for 3 weeks due to repair shops not accurately finding what was wrong with it and they finally did, using a flow test, and I set about fixing it.
I know the first thing to look for it a vacuum leak, but so far I haven't found anything... Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to what could be causing this?!

Sounds like a vacuum leak but did you get a recalibraded prom to work with the new size injectors?

Didn't get a new prom for the fact that I have been told that the ecm learning curve can learn to accept the larger injectors. Would a 350 prom do the trick if this is the case?

You can not simply install 24# injectors in a 305 which had 19s, and expect it to run right. You made a mistake. You should have installed an AFPR instead.

Re: Urgent!! High Idle after changing Fuel Injectors
Got it fixed... I exchanged the Accel injectors for Ford SVO 19# injectors... it was cheaper and it fixed the problem... so I used the left over money to buy other stuff! Thanks everyone.
