Stalls when given throttle?????
Stalls when given throttle?????
I have a 1986 TPI in my 69 nova and got the engine running its idles nicely but when i go to give it throttle the fuel pressure drops to 10 lbs. Any one have any ideas???? i took out the factory sock filter in the tank for less restriction. i have a singal fuel pump inline. and when the car is on the scan tool it says the car is running with 12 volts shouldnt that be around 14? If anyone has ANY suggestions im open for anything at this point..

Keep in mind the oil pressure sender has the power to kill the fuel pump, so if there's a loose wire that breaks connection when the motor torques, it could kill the car. Try jumping the fuel pump relay to diagnose what side you have a problem at; pump side or control side. 10 psi seems to indicate the pump shutting off.
