Little problem...surging

well, before I replaced the oil pan, the car would surge and stall untill it was warmed up, so I would warm it up for a minute and it would be fine. After replacing the oil pan (had an oil leak and oil pan was messed up) with the same one, just new, It doesn't want to idle at all. It is fine driving, but if it idles, it will surge bue not stall, it will go from around 200 rpm to about 900 rpm. when driving it will surge if I cruise at 1200 rpm. What is this problem. Oil is fine, coolant is fine.

Re: Little problem...surging

Sounds like a IAC, do a search on it to see how to clean it, also check the TPS

Re: Little problem...surging

both IAC and TPS are new. Not many miles on them. I think it may be a vacuum leak. Any other suggestions?

No idea. I will check. How hard are they to adjust and what should I adjust them to?

Re: Little problem...surging

I actually had a hard time putting it on. I got it on, but it is hitting the oil pan, so I think I am going to put some high heat cloth to help with the vibrations and heat.

knowing this it may be the knock sensor pulling timeing because of the Y/pipe rattleing on the oil pan, that is the same problem I am dealing with right now.

Yea, that was the direction my question was going
when I asked if he had any luck with the Y-pipe.

That could be the issue, maybe.. throw any codes?
