battery/alt issues

Hey guys, long story short I replaced my main cable going from the battery to the starter a while ago and I had to get rid of the fusable links hooking up to the battery +. I ran the red wire directly to the battery, added an inline fuse with a 30a fuse to the orange wire and then to the battery. The orange wire gets extremely hot and melts the fuse while running. At night with all my lights on, turn signal and brake applied my volts are in the red and the car almost stalls. I already tried a new alternator and I have the same problems. I've been checking out wiring diagrams and doing countless searches and I can't find any answers, any help is greatly appreciated. Here are some pictures of what I'm working with:

Re: battery/alt issues

And install about a 40A MAXI fuse in the line for the accessory power (orange wire), or install a fusible link again.
