Yes, I believe so.

I also thought so for the longest time.. then I noticed places like expressautoparts.com and carparts.com list different part #'s for the MPFI and TPI pumps.

The mounting bracket should be the same, and I'd say you could use a TPI pump in an MPFI motor (such as Edelbrock's high flow in-tank units), but now I'm not so sure about vise-versa.

The MPFI pump supplies 60 PSI "dead head" (max) pressure, and I think that's the same as the TPI- maybe there's some flow difference?

I guess the only way to know is to compare part numbers. It would be great to have a chart w/ flow+pressure and part numbers.I know a quad 4 pump is physicaly the same, could be better.

I looked into this when i had my RS to see if I could use the stock pump. ill get the exact numbers tomorrow morning/ and post em

Mike88, did you get those numbers? If Ski89 and Glenn are right, that my pump's dying, maybe I'll upgrade my MPFI pump to a TPI pump...

okay, the skinny on ac pumps
ep240(AC for V6) 50 psi, 16gph flow
ep241(AC for V8) 50 psi, 24gph flow
so they flow less on the V6 but have the same pressure
hope this helps

Awesome! Thanks, Mike!! If this pump ever goes, I won't bother with a high-flow one, I'll just get the TPI unit. Thanks again!

Would anyone happen to know the stock flow ratings for the GMC syclone/Typhoon pump?
