what are you doing about a chip? you will need a chip(not really mine "runs" with 305 chip but i know i need 350 chip atleast). being a 305 and the mods you have i would choose the 08-304-8, because it has OK dur. and good lift, cant remember what the stock springs will hold but i would plan on changing them too.any more ?'s .

I'm getting a custom one burnt. By who I don't know yet. But it aint going to be TPIS for $500! hah. $500 for a $2 chip.Isn't there some law against smoking crack in the workplace?

Anyway, so you think 08-305-08 would be too big?Im going to replace the intake manifold down the road.

Thanks

From what I've researched, a 200* to 210* duration @ .050" would probably be best for a 305. That should put you at 5000 to 5500 RPM peak. Then of course you will have to make sure the intake system can support that. If it will support more, bump the duration up 10* for every 500RPM. That's why I thought the LT4 hot cam would be too much for you. Peak power would be around 6500 to 7000.
Good luck,
Bob

the reason i suggested the 08-304-8 is because when i had my 305 i put a larger cam(Comp Cams 216/218 .444/.444 or something like that)in it and i made a big difference, and perfrmed in the same power band as the TPI system.you probably wont need a custom chip for this cam but get something like a JEt or hyperjunk(whatever makes you happy)
. what intake are you planning on buying?IMO i would not spend too much money on a 305, i would save money to build a 350 or a 400 . i have done the 305 thing and i didnt feel that it was worth it compared to the little extra money i spent on my new engine.
