The only mod not listed in my sig is the plenium porting to remove the protrusions behind the throttle body.

The car also has 101,000 miles on the orginal none freshened engine.

What do you attribute your second diference in times we have to?? If I port the plenum and go from 3.08 to 3.42 I'll gain 1.1 seconds?? Are these g-tech runs or track runs..

you have an iroc, they are often heavier than the formula. the iroc has no "real" mods listed (except catback), the formula has headers, pulley, coldair at least. I don't see that he was throwing codes . . . and, just maybe, he is a better driver

In another post he said he gained a half second with the headers..he said he was running 14.88 before them..I don't think I am a worse driver running a 14.90 on bald tires with 3.08's apposed to his 3.42's.

ahh, you know all cars are different - maybe your car was built during a period when the union was mad at management . . . also, no one on this board is a "worse" driver, just ask them and they will tell you !! Seriously though, with the problems you list (tires and codes), you are running well.

Yarnboy, the times listed are actual timed runs at the drag strip. On the G-tech the car runs 13.60's at 103 MPH. The G-tech seems to read about .2 to .3 second fast when compared to my actual timed runs at the strip.

A friend bought a new 305 TPI 5 speed back in either 88 or 89. Best I remember (long time ago),,, show room stock (street tires and all)it ran a 14.80 something (via my Vericom - me in the car). We installed a 160 stat, K&N filters and just took out the air deflectors, bumped the TPS and the timing, bolted on 26x8.5 slicks, took it to the track, slid the clutch at 4500,, rode it hard,,,, and I know it ran one 13.98,,, and a couple 14.0's!!! - before the stock clutch started a vacation. No one believed it was a 305,, and surely didn't believe it was "stock". I don't know for sure what gears the car had,,, but I do remember he ordered the car with the steapest gears available. Anyway,, just thought I'd throw what little I know about what a 305TPI 5 speed can do.

I wasn't ******* you . . . I have an 87 IROC that used to be a G92 car (305tpi/5 speed) w/3.45 rear. I spent quite a bit of money on it but never took it to the track. However, I could easily run with most LT1s and beat some of them, especially the early auto cars.

You have a good start, do full exhaust (headers to tailpipe, homemade "ram" air deal, then decide what to do after that (i.e. more expensive) - you cannot overlook the heads/cam/intake if your serious. in short, all cars can be made to run if you have the cash.
