Whats the fastest u can make a 350 TPI go not using a Mini Ram and the like
I would like to know how fast I could get an IROC 350 to go, when I get it, and not switch to a Mini Ram or other products like them because I like the looks of the stock TPI. I would like to get that car into the 11's-12's. Thanks!!
Looking For:

11's and 12's are easy with the stock looking tpi, Preston Scott went 9.95 with a stock 305. http://www.suempresaenlinea.com/drowned/images/iroc-cop.gif[/img]

With a stock TPI intake, you'll need nitrous or a blower to go 12's. 11's are almost impossible. With an aftermarket TPI intake, like a high-flow base and large tube or semi-siamese runners, heads, cam, headers, you can get 12's pretty easily. I'm knocking on 12's door right now. My best time in my sig is with a ported stock TPI intake. But I'm switching to TPIS intake and runners, now.

traxion had a aftermarket TPI on his 350 and went 12.5 i think he might have had a 12.4 pass too cant remember. i think 12.5 is the most you can get out of a N/A aftermarket TPI 350.

I'm talking about not using a SC or NOS and still having the stock TPI. I want to do just about every other mod besides them, and get into 11s-12s. What would I have to do??

I'm going for ther same thing! I think maxed out heads and lower intake, custom siamiesed runners and at least a ZZ-4 Cam as well as a 2400-2600 stall with the right suspension should get me high 12's. at least that's what I want,or at least can't see why not.

Ok, you need to define what you mean by "stock TPI", please. Are you refering to the stock GM TPI pieces on your car now, or are you refering to aftermarket TPI pieces that look like stock pieces, like an intake manifold and runners? If you're talking about the stock GM pieces, there is no f'ing way you are gonna run 11's with them, without using a power adder, on a 350 engine. If you add an aftermarket intake manifold, like one from Edelbrock, or Accel, or TPIS, and some high-flow runners like from AS&M, or Accel, 12's are pretty easy to get, provided you change the cam and heads too. To get 11's you'll need a larger engine, or a SuperRam or MiniRam.

I've gone 12.98 on the stock plenum, runners and throttle body with the following mod's.
The mod's to my'87 350 TPI consist of:

air foil
TPIS Bigmoth intake manifold
Edelbrock 6085 heads
ZZ-9 cam
headers
3" cat-back w/ stock cat.
Probuilt 700R4 tranny
2600 stall converter
300+ digital ignition
custom chip
Energy suspension bushings
strut tower brace
drag radials
stock 3:27 gears.
I think that's it...?

Heads flowing 250 cfm or better, maxed ported stock intake, or aftermarket intake, with aftermarket runners, 52mm t/b, ram air, hogged out MAF, cam with around 214 on the intake, 224 on the exhaust on a 112 spread, custom chip (good tune), 1 3/4" headers, 2.5" Y-pipe to 3.5" muffler, no cat, 3.42 - 3.73 gears (limited slip/posi), 2400 - 2600 stall, shift kit, global west / aftermarket suspension (for drag), skinnies up front,,, and slicks on the back, you should run 12.30 - 12.50. I really believe a 11:1 NA 383 or 406 could break in the 11's without a super or miniram if you could get it to hook hard enough - then you'de need a stronger rear!

You don't say wether you have a full exhaust system in your car (meaning at least 1 5/8 headers and catback), but if you want to make it to the 12s you better start by getting rid of the super restrictive stock manifolds. I think everybody in this board would agree that the manifolds choke the engine more than stock runners, base and TB combined. A "FULL" exhaust system has to be good for at least 30-35 horses and at least 20-25 lbs/ft of torque.
I think a completely stock tpi setup is good for mid to low 13s without N2O, SC or turbos.

I just put a new 2100-2300 RPM TQ Converter. I hope a 13.20 or better
