Poll of mods that work

I want to take a poll of what mods made what difference, and what mods were worthless.

I'll get it started by:

JET AFPR, Corvette Servo = .3 faster in the 1/4 mile.

How does the vette servo improve 1/4 et. I just paid some crazy cash ($1600) to rebuild my tranny, which included a new vette servo among other things. What et reduction can I expect from this mod?
Thanks, Rick

Everyone on of the major mods I did, the headers, cat-back and performance resource chip all did great for my car. The headers were worth .5, the cat-back was worth about .3 and the chip was .2 off in the 1/4.

------------------
1987 Chevy Camaro IROC-Z
L98 TPI 350 (5.7L)
TH 700R-4 Transmission with 2.77:1 Rear End

Current Mods: Edelbrock TES 1 5/8" Headers, Hooker Aerochamber Cat-Back System, Performance Resource Chip with 160* Thermostat, Accel Ignition Components, K&N Filters, All Free Mods, Falken ZIEX Z-Rated Tires.

Best ET : 14.32 @ 97.7mph
(corrected for elevation)

Soon to come: LT4 HOT Cam, Air Flow Research 190cc or 195cc Heads, 2800 RPM Stall Converter and SLP 3.70 Rear End Gears.

I don't know if it did or not, I did the servo when I did the AFPR. I imagine my AFPR helped out the most, but the tranny does shift quicker, which may shave .001 (whoop) seconds off in between shifts.

ported plenum EGR walls, and shimmed (using a quarter) fuel pressure regulator: .3

The 5psi jump in fuel pressure made a BIG difference, and combined with the extra airflow through the plenum, it made a DEFINITE seat of the pants difference as well.

This may sound odd, but keeping the car cool in the staging lanes was perhaps the largest seat of the pants 'mod' (lol) I ever did. The difference between a 230 degree heat soaked engine and a cool 160 degree one is at least a half second.

BFG Drag Radials were worth .4 over my crappy street tires.

SLP 1 5/8" headers were worth .25 over stock manifolds.

ZZ4 heads and cam were worth .8 over stock heads and cam.

Ram-Air was worth .3 (added to the .8 above)

Changing from 2.73 to 3.42 gears knocked off .4 and gave me 6mph, and that is feathering the throttle bigtime off the start. Traction would knock off another .4 pretty easy.

------------------
87 IROC 350, 3:42 Torsen
13.94@103mph, 2.25 60'
Stock cam, chip and trans
In the works: ported SLP runners, ported base, Xtreme Cam, homemade suspension pieces, and 27x10 Hoosiers.
Hoping for 12.999

From: What?!? Am I still here?
Car: Mullitt mobile :)
Engine: it's stock LOL
Transmission: 700rJunk
Axle/Gears: 2 much 4 street not enough for strip
Underdrive pullies = .0 improvement.
1 5/8 headers switch from 2.77 to 3.23 gears = .5.
(most of the gain from the gear swap)
AFPR on stock engine = -.1 (at least on mine it liked the stock setting best).

Bumping timing from 6 BTDC to 10 BTDC = .3 (on my car)

A friend of mine's '96 TA M6 picked up .9 changing gears from 3.42 to 4.10 (high 14's to hi 13's).

Don't know about free mods, did them while rebuilding my engine.

Sparks a flyin'.
