Dumping the 305, going to a 350 questions?

If I get rid of the 305 and replace it with a 350 how much of the TPI stuff can I reuse? Computer, Sensors, Wiring, injectors, throttle body, ect. I have an 85 IROC. All replys are greatly appricated.

i dont have a TPI, but as far as i know you need larger injectors and a chip that will feed them - - i think the injectors for the 350 are like 5lb/hr more? not sure

Since the 350 wasn't offered in 85, you might want to consider getting an aftermarket chip that will agree with the 350 better. As far as injectors go, the 305's are 19 lbs. per hour, and the 350's are 22 lbs. per hour. You can probably get away with the 19lb. injectors if you install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and increase your fuel pressure a bit, or you can get the 22lb. injectors. The chip and the injectors are the only parts that differ between 305 and 350 TPI setups.

Check my sig. I could have kpet all my factory stuff, but I up graded everything but at the time I droped the 350 in I used all stock compnents other that SLP runners and a hypercrap chip hat was for the 305. It ran great. I have just kept inproving on it. Now all i need is a gear and some heads.

i switched form a 305 to a 350 about 9 months ago. i re-used all the 305 stuff. i need to get a diff chip but it runs with the 305 chip just fine. as far as injectors go you can get away with the 19's but need to bump up the pressure,of course this depends on if it is a stock 350 or a modified one. i am switching to 24's though because i need more fuel.

1st you need 22 pound injectors. 2nd send your memcal (chip) to tpiparts.net they will program the best version of the 350 offered from gm to the chip for $30.00. limp home mode will not work but who cares. get headers and afpr and hook it all up. expect the tpi to limit power to 250hp flywheel net. if you want more is gonna cost you hundreds of dollars more......

The 85 ECMs were pretty limited.
May want to consider upgrading the ECM to a 86-89. The "165" ecms are much faster and better supported for MAF systems.
If you're going with SD, the 730 ECM is what you need.

Do a search in the DIY Prom board for your 85 ecm.
