Since you have the stock intake manifold, probably around 4600 or so. I am able to feel mine give up and stop pulling. You should shift just before that.

I think you're right Kevin. Actually my peak hp is at 4600 if I'm not mistaken. How much more RPM would an aftermarket intake manifold give me?

4600 is low as hell to shift. I've got an auto car, but I shift 1-2 at 5300, and 2-3 at 5100. 4600 = short shifting and will hurt ETs.

I think shifting at 4700 rpms is the best shift point. I got my best timeslip shifting at that rpm range and you shouldnt shift before 4700 and no later than 5000 rpms especially with the 3.73 gears, which I have also. Good luck

MrJ my car shifts @5500 1-2, and 5100 2-3 i really wish it would shift around 5000 because i can feel the car losing power after the 5000 also, when you shift does the car shift for you, or when you take it in to 2 will it shift right away? On my car for example @ WOT i can move the shifter into 2 around 4800 and the car will AUTOMATICALY go to 5500. it really gets me mad. Does your car do that? When i'm not @WOT and i shift, it will go into gear right away. But, hey i guess thats why its called and automatic

I've got a Trans Go shiftkit. I can hold any gear as long as I want But the tranny shifts, automatically, at a little over 5000 for 1-2, and about that for 2-3 also.

Loosen up the tv cable and it will shift sooner. It will probably shift to soon in normal driving though.
