????Running REALLY RICH after 1-3/4" LT's and 3" X-PIPE installation

Hey Everyone, I just installed my 1-3/4" Schoenfeld longtubes, and my 3" X-PIPE true duals, on my 355 SD TPI. I have 24# injectors, edelbrock ported base, 58mm ACCELL T.B., HotCam, and custom Howell PROM. Car ran extremely rich diretly after installation, it POPS very loud from the excessive richness. Could it be the drastic reduction of backpressure? Is there a way to rectify this problem, by timing and TPS adjustments? Deep down, I know that I will need to get another programming of my prom, my PROM BURNING stuff haven't got here yet. The car doesn't set any codes, just the richness and popping. Any help would be GREAT APPRECIATED. Thanks everyone.

EDIT: these are my exhaust assembly, so that you know.

Probably the O2 sensor. You definitely need a heated O2 with long tubes or else the sensor will not get heated enough to operate correctly. It will cause more fuel to be dumped into the engine than is necessary.

Just curious cause I have a 87ss also. Does the x go under the crossmember? Im sure you have a different crossmamber w/ a t56 but mine only has a single exhaust hump in it.

Ashley,
I've also heard that with long tube headers you will need a heated O2 sensor. Nice looking exhaust. Wife lets you play car in the living room eh? LOL

Hey 87Z-ya, GTA91, and Rob, I already have the HEATED O2 sensor, it is a brand new BOSCH P/N 13077 unit. 87Z-ya, I have a custom RACING CROSS MEMBER from G-FORCE PERFORMANCE, I sent him the dimensions to modify it for the T-56 mount. GTA91, those CATS are 3" MORE-FLOW units, that I bought from Internet Racing Supplies. I only paid $99.99 each, http://www.racenet.net Look at the 93-97 F-body exhaust section for them. HTH's. 87Z-ya, check out my WEBSHOTS WEBPAGE to get a better look at my entire setup and the CUSTOM CROSSMEMBER. I will be adding new pictures of the entire headers and X-PIPE installation on Sunday. Here is a picture of "SSYNERGY" HTH's BTW Rob, that photo was taken at a Friends HOUSE

I'd focus on that Howell chip! They are not the best custom chip burners I've seen. I went through at least 5 "custom" Howell chips for my TBI a few years back. Never again!

Try Ed Wright's Fast Chips.
