Ram Air questions
I'm just about to install some Ram Air in my IROC and have a few questions first.
I'm using the fog light tunnels but intend to keep the fog lights in. Will there be enough space to get an adequate ammount of air through there?
Will the car overheat when more because these tunnels will no longer be supplying the radiator with air?
Finally, if I decide to scrap the system at a later date will I have to worry about water getting into the airfilters because the air box has a hole cut into it?
Thanks for the help guys.

Mods
Custom exhaust. 4 Inch pipe from the headders all the way back to a single muffler at the rear. No Cat. K&Ns, AFPR and Air foil.
Future mods:
Cam change
New torque converter
New heads (maybe corvette L98)
Strut brace
Sub frame connectors
Ram Air
Current G-Tech times
0-60mph 6.26 seconds
1/4 14.74@100.2mph

Ive got this system on mine with the fog lights.
Alot of air can still get past the lights, but more air would pass through without them. Its up to you.
My car did want to over heat at first. I added a manual fan switch, but then realized that i didnt have an air dam. I havent had that problem since.
I wouldnt about the rain, more rain would probably get on your filters with the ram air installed than without it, but i dont think that is a big issue. The rain would have to travel up to hit the filter, and i dont think that would ever happen. Make sure you have K&N filters, or this mod probably wont do much anyway.
Hope that helped, Doug

F-bodies don't use the traditional grill style cooling to pass air to the radiator. They use the air dam underneath as mentioned. You can block the foglight holes off completely and it won't overheat as long a everything else is intact and working.

'88 IROC TPI 355, '69 truck 4-bolt, fully balanced, 9.75:1 compression, fully ported '70 truck heads(for now), Harland Sharp 1.6 Roller Rockers, Comp Cams CS 252AH-12, ported '86 TPI converted to speed density, Crane AFPR, Flowmaster 3in. exhaust, Edelbrock TES headers, all emissions equipment is still intact, plan on burning my own chips, many more mods and parts on the way as time and money permits =(
Best E.T. with TBI 305: 16.11 @ 82mph
Haven't been to track with new motor
If you have any questions on converting from TBI to TPI email me at jdkchevy70@yahoo.com
