Cold start injector?

I think my cold start injector is leaking fuel. My car runs rich all the time and fuel pressure wont correct it. My injectors are orig 305s and they are rebuilt and matched. Cold start is orig. 164000 rounds! I have heard you can eliminate it. I dont drive in the winter, What is needed? Thanks

85,

Remove the fuel line fitting from the left rear fuel rail, and plug the opening. The remainder of the cold start valve can stay in place without causing any problems. If you really wanted to, you could remove teh cold start injector and fabricate a blockoff plate for the opening. You could also remove the cold start and test it with fuel pressure to test your theory. If the cold start is not leaking, start looking at the oxygen sensor.

Call Jegs and ask for a cold start block of kit made by Accel. It's about $60 wich is cheaper than a new cold start injector and makes alot neater job.

Can you still use the runners that have the provision for the cold start valve even if you block it off?

yes, the block off kit has the plug for the cold start valve and a plug for the fuel rail. Leaving the cold start valve in is ok ,but I recomend that you get the kit mainly for the fuel rail plug. Just tring to plug the fuel rail with a bolt will not work, becouse their is a o ring that is needed for it to seal.
