fuel pump?

i have an 85 Z28 with a 305 TPI. i think my fuel pump is bad. its an electric, in tank pump and when u turn the ignition on no sounds are made. i know most electric fuel pumps make a sound when the ignition is turned on. is there a fuse for the pump and if so where might it be? any suggestions?
thanks!

Re: fuel pump?

The fuel relay could be bad, and yes it could be the fuse. I'm not in a position right now to help you find the fuse, or I would.

I highly recommend you do a search on a Helms manual and get yourself one. It's not like a Chiltons or Haynes, it's what the dealer would have if it was working on your car.

Re: fuel pump?

Have a 1985 GM Camaro Service Manual for sale in the Misc. Third Gen Stuff section of the classified board. On the first page about half way down. Check it out! Badman

Re: fuel pump?

That's a good price ($50), which is at least as good as you'd find anywhere else. You ought to take it off his hands; you won't regret it.

Re: fuel pump?

I've lost the pump relay on a couple cars over time and thought it was pump.
the relay beside it is interchangeable to swap for test.
