Re: Buying a new starter soon! check this one out!

Update: I finally got around to hooking up the wires to the starter today and everything is a go except for one small problem; the starter wont engage the flywheel, all it does is grind on the flywheel! In the instrucions it states that if there is still excess clearance present when no shims are used, to cut them in half and place them on the outer bolt hole (moves the starter closer to the flywheel) until I reach the desired clearance. Ill get to shimming it tomorrow and post the results! L8R!

Ok!!! All systems go ! I had to use 5 half-shims on the outter bolt hole to decrease clearance! It was a PITA since I had to use 1 shim, then 2, 3 and so on until I got the right clearance! The thing now fires right up ! Not to mention it sounds like the starters that the newer cars have! Definately worth the money! L8R!
