TPI on 1965 327 motor?

I was talking to a friend of mine who is considering putting TPI on his 1965 327. He doesn't have the internet, so I will be doing the asking. He doesn't know if he will be going with the earlier or later style TPI, but we will save that for a later post. Has anyone done this before or does anyone have any information on this setup. This should be going into an 86 IROC shortly!!

That does not sound like a good matchup....A 327 is a high-rev application, where TPI is for low revving torque applications. As much as I like TPI, I would not put it on a 327.

I agree bad combo. The 327 is a high RPM engine and a stock TPI (made for low RPM torque) starts crapping out above 4500 RPM. With fuel injection it's all about combination. I think your friend will be disappointed.

yeah bad combo total mismatch...one would cancel out the other...a 327 LOVES to rev...the TPI would stop that quick...and vice versa...a TPI makes great low end torque..where has a 327 makes a lot of power top end

if ya wanna go fuel injected, get teh computer, wiring harness, and injectors from a tpi car and run a mini ram intake. this is kinda like an LT1. that would be a great combo! a high revvin 327 with a mini ram would be a match made in heaven.

P-E-R-F-E-C-T for a 327. The bare intake is $255 from summit, get a TBI to carb adapter, put a 454 TBI on it minus injectors and go to town . See if you can use TPI fuel rails, if not you need to get some from holley. www.holley.com
