Throttle Blade Position

I was wondering if there was any standard on "how to set throttle blade position"?

My fixed/nonadjustable TPS voltage is .70. I also notice that my blades are partly cracked open. So I am thinking someone before me has adjusted the stopper screw. Do I just back that down tell I get proper TPS voltage and call it done? OR do the blades need to be in a specific position?

Re: Throttle Blade Position

blades should be closed completely.if youre only reading .70 it may go down to .54 when closed .have you cleaned the throttle body yet?also you can adjust the stop nut if its holding it open.theres a small plug behind it unless its been removed, takes a small torx socket.later jimmy

Re: Throttle Blade Position

Body was so clean when I got it, I could have ate off it. The plug on both of the bodys I have, have been removed. With the blades up against the stopper/adjuster I was only getting .70. I can adjust it down to read .50-.55, but then on my custom setup it wouldnt even idle. If thats how it needs to be then I will learn how to adjust my pcm to match. Just wondering how it should be from the factory.

Re: Throttle Blade Position

go in tech articles on home page it explains in detail how to adjust tps and iac ,also check the throttle blades to see if 1 has a burr on it ,doesnt take much to hold it open, make sure throttle cable isnt holding it open.just throwing different things that can do this ,later jimmy
