taking off the smog pump?

i read the tech articles about removing the smog pump and all it says is about the belt routing. im not worried about that, thats no problem. the problem i am worried about is if removing the smog pump is it gonna affect any of my sensors or any eletrical components in my car. the smog pump has 2 eletrical plugs on it under the cover plate. what happens when i remove the wiring to the pump is my conscern.

i read the tech articles and all it says in there is about the belt routing. i am not conscerned about the belt routing i am concerned about it messing with my eletronics in my car. the smog pump has two plugs that attach to it and i wonder what will happen if i disconnect them, if it will mess up any eletronics

I have had the belt off of my '87 for months will no ill effects, it even passed inspection. The bect way to get rid of it all is to get headers w/o AIR fittings. I have a brand new set of SLP 1.75" headers w/o AIR fittings and with the install kit that I am selling for $425 + shipping. chuck@dumark.com
