1/4 mile mods?

what can i do to my stock 1988 iroc 350 tpi to make it run low 14's high 13's without hurting gas mileage and not coasting over $600. Also i dont want to have to tear the engine apart.
thanks!

for 600 not much to get it where you want it look at my sig i would definately go the other route next time meaaning spending the money on gears at least 3.45's,a good shift kit,and a vigillante converter, along with suspension tuning the converter goes for 700 alone but the guarentee 1/2 second drop from it someone is selling one on the classified section the biggest thing you can do to hit your goals is gearing, trans work, and converter,or you can do the nitrous thing but if it isnt dialed in perfectly it'll eat that stock engine quick

The TGO Tech Central has a listing of all the free and low cost mods that you can do for your car. Here is a list of a few mods mentioned there. -->Port the plenum opening walls down flush. Get an Adjustable fuel pressure regulator-adjust to 48 to 50psi -what ever makes the most power for your car.(I just bought a used AFPR for $40 shipped from the TGO classifieds) Get a TB Airfoil (don't spend more than $30 shipped for one.) Remove the airfilter splash guards and replace filters with the K&Ns. Use a 180' ($8)thermostat with a low temp fan switch.($35) Bump your timing up 6' to 12' and use 92-93 octane gas. The Board Archives is a good place to look for free-low cost mods as well.

nitrous wont hurt your gas milage and it'l get you into the 14's pretty easily it won't cost more than $600 if you install it yourself

i cutted the MAF screens one day. i used my friend leatherman and my 20$ toolkit. next thing will be using my 15$ dremel-look-a-like-scary-electric-tool to remove bumbs after TB from the plenum. anyway, i felt like engine is getting rpm better than before...

i think it will be like 0.05 improvement...
