water boiling
I just bought an 89 GTA and after driving it for a while I parked it and noticed the water was boiling very loudly. And touching everything near the engine was very hot, even the fenders. The coolant is a light brown mucky color. Anyone know what the problem is? I'll flush and replace the coolant asap.

Familiarize yourself with what the airdam is located underneath the car and see if you have one or yours is damaged. It is critical for cooling operation. It scoops air into the radiator from underneath.

I'll check for that. I didnt notice the car overheating when I was letting it idle while checking it out for a while. I made sure I let it idle for a good while, but I never got a chance to drive it extensively till now.

Yeah there is an air dam at the bottom of the radiator. Before I bought the car I had it checked out and a compression test done on it. The compression test turned out great, so should I be worried about a cracked block or blown head gasket? The car goes pretty good when I floor it, but it seems the pedal has a bit of a dead spot in the middle. I guess that could just be the timing. Thanks for any help.
