Injector strange ohm value (accel)

Sunday (20 Jan 2008) I started the car after it been resting for about 3 month (its winter over here so, alot of snow.... and ****..)
So I started the car and it runned like crap.. didnt fire on all cylinders, only on 5 ones... pulled the power to each injector
to see if the rpm changed... yeah the rpm dropped on 5 cylinders and on 3 it didnt change...
So I ohmed out all the Accel 23lbs injectors.. and the where about 25 to 1200ohm each... strange..
I went to get a new ohm tool.. When I got back (maybe 30mins.) I brought with me the laptop..
I checked the injectors again and now 6 injectors had like 17,8ohm and 2 had about 80ohm...
hooked up the computer and checked all the info,, looked pretty good, started her up and the
car runned good, almost no shake and ran really good... had the car running for about 25 min, so
it got real working temp and so.. rew it up sometimes. runned real good

Called the one that sold me the accel injectors, he said that the car may not fire at all cylinders at first when not used for a while but shall work after som minutes..strange because the stock injectors never did that..??.

TODAY, 2 days later I went to the garage and ohmed they out, and the ohm was f*cked up again and the car runned like ****...

Do I have bad injectors again or what ? The injector ohm shall not change if its not used ?
In october when I checked them , they was like 15ohm each (good value)
and now they getting worse if not driven...

any ideas, do I need to replace the new Accel injectors 23lbs/hr ?

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

they could be bad. they have a history of being bad. My accel injectors however are good and are the 24lb version. they just dont like high fuel pressures. stock pressure and they worked great. They ohmed out just fine for me when i put them in. Now i'm selling them since they are too small for the 383 i got goin on.

if your ohms are all over the place, perhaps they are bad. but also see what fuel pressure your running. if its over 46psi, turn it down and try again

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

The fuel pressure is stock, have the stock fuelpressure regulator and when in idle the pressure is ~36psi and when mild/ruff throttle it goes up to ~43psi

So its the stock pressure..

EDIT :

the ohm is like 24, 50, 900, 1200+ and there is no logic.. (but after a while the ohm is getting better, but still , they SHOULD NOT do this..) I have used this new accel since May 2007, and I have been driving ~559miles... (aprox 900km)
Been having some troubles with the car thats why I havent driven for so long..

Well if they are bad I will buy, Ford Racing ? or ?

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

doesnt really make sense to me that the ohm readings are changing because they are not getting used. They shouldnt change

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

asked a friend that has the same injectors, He havent started his car since december and his ohm values are 18,8 on 6 and 14,9 on the 2 last...
So his injector are holding the "right" values..

and mine is broken then, after 1 day of not using them, they get f*cked up...

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

they might have been a bad batch. Accel has been known for this because the manufacturer of their old style injectors had quality control issues. THe newest stuff is made by another company and is just fine. I got lucky with my injectors as they are the old style yellow 24lb injectors but they work just fine for me.

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

I also got the yellow ones... I hate them..
STRONG ticking sound and ticking in the fuelrail to from them, I can feel the ticking from them If i put my hand on the plenum... thats not right either...
Its ticking inside the car to... I dont think I will buy accel again...

Shall I buy ford injectors instead ? Dont now if I want accel again. because so many has said that its crap....

Ford racing injectors are decent quality. Lots of people around here run them. Stock GM injectors are fine, too, if you get the right size.

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

So I need to buy new injectors then, The ohm shall always be the same. if warn maybe 1 to 2 ohm more but it shall not change like 10+ ohms ?

So I got to buy new ones, Ford Racing, is it "quiet" injectors or ? dont want the loud hard ticking/clicking sound that the accel ones got... its bugging me, ticking loud and when cruising idling its almost louder than the engine , and yes its the injectors that make the sound, used a tool against it and its the injectors that makes that noice..

Stock Gm injectors, is hard to come buy, I live in Sweden so I buy from summit och Tpiparts..

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

strange yesterday when I went to the garage and checked out the injectors
they had this values :

Cyl 1 : 15.0 Ω
Cyl 2 : 15.3 Ω
Cyl 3 : 14.9 Ω
Cyl 4 : 15.3 Ω
Cyl 5 : 14.9 Ω
Cyl 6 : 15.4 Ω
Cyl 7 : 14.9 Ω
Cyl 8 : 15.3 Ω

Fired the car up and it runned like a champ really nice idle and smooth.
No shake no nothing, ran like it should..

strange that tuesday and in sunday the ohm was f*cked up.. and now
1 day later, the values are fine again.... what can cause that ?

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

thats pretty crazy i have no idea why they are doing that? But if they hold those values and the car runs fine, then keep them.

if they continue to be shaky on ohm values and the car doesnt run right at times, junk those things

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

Went to the garage again 2days ago, the car runned good, values, has changed alittle bit since 23January..

all values from October last year, you can see here : http://www.alandsbrodata.ymex.net/z28/accelohm.htm

NOTE: that 20Jan (hot) and 22Jan (cold) isnt the right values. dont remember them.. you have an info box under on that page...

shall I keep them for now or ?

Re: Injector strange ohm value (accel)

your 305 only requires 19# injectors. I think you may need to prom and or adjust the fuel pressure for it to run right with larger capacity injectors.

Yeah I already did that It ran like a champ for several month when the values where good. The first thing I did when I changed the injectors was to change the prom too.... So its not that..

the resistance shall not change over time in the injectors..
