IAC question

Still fighting this idle problem.

I just bought a scan tool and everything looks ok with my TPS. It shows a voltage between .49 - .50. I'm now looking at my IAC. When idleing it stays at about 45-50 steps. I'm not sure if this is a bit high. I thought you'd be looking for about 20-25 at idle. But my question is, when I step on the gas it will go to about 65 steps. Is this normal? What should my IAC do when I step on the gas?

your TPS @ 49-50, My 87 is set at 59 now, and was at 54 from the factory, seems low. As for the IAC...no idea sorry.

I never monitored my IAC counts while accellerating, but your idle counts are just a bit high, may be due to buildup in the TB passages, or behind the blades.

What's the problem with your idle? Too high, too low, erractic?

I thought TPS should be at .50 +/- .075? No? It does not have any dead spots as I check with my Scan tool. I feel my idle is a bit rough. The car shakes a little while idling and it does not stay at a good steady 750 RPM. It bounces around a tiny bit. I want it like my honda, real nice and steady! Also, when cold, it does not jump up to a real high rpm right away. It flutters a bit for a few seconds below 1000rpm and then kicks up after it is ready to stall. This is only when cold by the way. It never goes up to a real high idle like I think it should. I think it only hits like 1500 rpms. Otherwise, it runs very nicely when driving. Yesterday I went and removed my Throttle body and cleaned it nicely. The IAC looked good and clean already. I hit it with some WD40. I don't think it made much of an improvement. My car only has 20K miles so really it did not have much as far as buildup. Just a little dirty and was easy to clean. Do you think I should just replace the IAC and see what happens? I did notice also that the cap was removed to adjust idle speed by the previous owner. I did not check that yet and really do not know if I should. Also, I changed the thermostat back to a 195. It had a 160. Now I'm wondering if the previous owner may have put a chip in it. Not sure how I could tell if it had the original chip. Thanks for any info you could give me!

Just wanted to mention one more thing. When I start it cold, it takes a second or two to start. It does not start right away. When hot it has no problem and starts quickly.
