What is the best runners/base combo?

I am looking to upgrade my TPI intake. I want to port my plenum and change the runners/base. What brands do you guys like? Edelbrock, SLP, Accel???? I don't want to spend the money on a Miniram or SuperRam. Thanks.

I don't have either of these but from what other people have said I figure the best runners are the Arizona Speed & Marine, and the best base is the TPIS. The TPIS base is an edelbrock unit that they have ported. Also it seems like a lot of guys buy the cheaper SLP semi-siamese runners and port them all the way out to a full siamese.

Good Luck

I have the Accel runners and the edelbrock base. I plan to port them both soon.

How do these setups compare to a Miniram or SuperRam? How is the upper RPM power on long tube setups like these? Thanks.

I can pull to about 5800 RPM nicely. 6000 if I'm pushing it. Around 6500 is about as far as you're going to get with any sort of long runner, TPI system. The miniram will move your power band up. You'll be able to rev higher too, assuming that all your other components are up to the task.
