Corvette starter?

Has anybody used a starter from an '88-'91 Corvette on their L98. The original Camaro starter has 9 teeth, and the Corvette starter has 11 teeth.

Re: Corvette starter?

I'll answer my own question. With a little bit of shimming the starter does fit. It starts up much quicker now, and the 8 lb weight reduction is always welcome.

Re: Corvette starter?

Did your starter have the solenoid on the bottom?

Did you have to make your wires longer?

I ran across your post after I posted in this one. Looks like I will be fine.

Are you running headers? LT's or shortys?

Re: Corvette starter?

I used GM P/N 10455702 on my '88 L98....other than the different length bolts, it was a straight swap. I've had zero starting issues since.
