Stock Fans CFM?
Stock Fans CFM?
Hey guys, does anyone know the CFM on the stock fans for a 5.7 88' GTA? im thinking about upgrading, but i don't want to accidently downgrade by getting something that flows less air.

And while we are on the subject, are there any better fans that use the stock mounting brackets for an easy install?

You'll probably never actually figure out the CFM without some sort of testing fixture to test it on. It shouldn't be too hard, though, to determine the RPM of the motor and diameter of the blades.. That should be enough to make a ballpark comparison between fans!

Does anybody have a fan shroud for the dual fan setup? I want to put one on my car but I can't find one. I'm sure it would help some.

There is no shroud available for the dual fans on the 88 GTA. Also I don't know that anyone makes fans to fit the OEM mounts.
I replaced mine with Perma-Cool 12" fans. They pull 1200 CFM each and do a very good job but I didn't notice a big gain. These fans come with mounts that go through the radiator, or you can get the brackets.
So I guess that if there was no noticeable difference but there was no loss of air flow, the factory fans flow about the same 1200 CFM.
