L98 Question?
Hey guys, i just swaped a L98 in my iroc. Although i do not have the car yet (still at garage -_-, lazy mecanique) i did here her run and runs very solide. i was just wondersing is there a big differance in power from the 305 TPI to a 350 TPI, & what does your L98 run at the 1/4 (dunno anything about 1/8) stock or with bolt ons. Thanks Jazz

Re: L98 Question?
In totally stock trim and well tuned, you should run high 14s.
With boltons, it depends on what boltons and what you consider "boltons".

Re: L98 Question?
I know my L98 completly stock ran 14.7's - 14.6 depending on the air that night. It has an after-cat and slp cold air now and runs 14.3 consistantly, has run a best of 14.1 with great air.

Re: L98 Question?
bone stock L98 is a good deal faster than a 305. best 305's seem to be high 14's well driven. L98 is generally mid 14's. some lower, some slower
i've heard 13.90's at 99 from a stock L98. that being the quickest.
My 89 i feel would have ran 14.4-14.5's or so at 95 mph. not too shabby.
Full bolt ons later with a converter/slicks, i went 12.95 at near 104, so i'm happy with how the L98 runs

Re: L98 Question?
i agree, that is very very quick for a claimed stock L98 car. Its what i've heard and i've heard that before 2-3 times so maybe its possible? you'd need a great launch to make it happen. A L98 is only traction away from 13's i feel on a cold day and sealevel like conditions. stock auto stall tho will limit that ability to launch hard so i'm not sure. I've heard 14.3's alot to for 91-92 cars and thats pretty close to 13's
