Timing ?'s

When I set my Timing to specs my car runs really rough. And when I set it by ear its not even near the marks. What could cause this distibutor, timing chain???? Also my car likes to rev high before shifts then when it does shift it squells the tires a little. Any suggestions would help.

Your marks on the balancer may be off. Try setting it by ear, but don't go too far. It would help if you had a scanner to see if you're getting knock counts.
