New Injectors

I am going to be swapping in a set of new Accel 23 lb injectors soon. Is there any tips or things I should watch out for?

Thanks,

Bob

I think if you swap out the injectors you have to get a custom chip. I could be wrong, but that is what I was told when I was considering it. Instead, I just took my stock ones out and at this very minute they are at Cruzin Performance getting blueprinted.

You don't need a custom chip, there isn't much of a difference between 22# and 23#. Make sure you replace every o-ring in the fuel rail that you touch, or it could leak. Lube the o-rings up with oil, use the injector clips, good luck.

Do you think you need a custom chip with 24# injectors?

You could always use a custom chip. Even on tatally stock engines. Just look at what Glenn has done with his L98. Is it absolutely necessary? No. Would a custom burned chip be highly beneficial? YES.

Changing your fuel tables to match your new injectors is the right thing to do. Get with a tuner in your area and see the difference

Your computer will compensate at part throttle but WOT settings could make it a little rich. I swapped to 24 lb SVO's and increased the pressure to 49lbs and did not change the chip and had no problems.

Just out of curiosity, what is the "shop time" for doing this? I can usually double what it takes a "real" mechanic to do it.

Swapping injectors??? I can have mine out, still attached to the rails, in about an hour. Add 30 mins in there to pull them from the rails if the clips are being a bitch.
