stock placement of a/c compressor

I am looking to buy an 87 GTA and i am not sure what the correct side is for the a/c compressor and alternator. I thought 305 and 350 from 86 to 92 had alternator on driver side a/c on passenger. The 87 with a 305 im looking at has the alternator on the passenger side and a/c on driver. I just wanted to get my info straight thanks.

Re: stock placement of a/c compressor

'82-87 have the V-belt setup with the A/C compressor and power steering pump on the driver's side and alternator and A.I.R. pump on the passenger side. '88-92 have a single serpentine belt setup with the alternator and power steering pump on the driver's side and A/C compressor and A.I.R. pump on the passenger side.

The V-belt setup uses stamped steel brackets to attach all the accessories to the engine. The serpentine setup uses two large cast aluminum pieces to attach everything.
