new cam or 1.6 rockers?
ok here are the numbers on my cam.
Rpm range 1500-4500
duation @.050 204/214
gross lift .423/.446
should i get 1.6 rockers wich would raise the lift to .451/.475 or just get a new cam?
i am about to put on L98 aluminum heads too so.
------------------
305, TPI,compucam 2030 cam, air foil, 8.8 wires, accel super coil, dynomax headers, custom y-pipe, cut out, 80 series flowmaster, 2.73's and an open diff(3.42-3.73 on the way). and a stage 4 chip :0). hittin a sad 15.2 before the chip.

86,
Those L98 aluminum heads are probably going to cost you some power. You'll at least lose compression due to the larger chamber sizes. And with those valve lifts you might even stuff a valve face into the deck (Remember, the 305 cylinders are smaller). You might better off installing S/R Torquer 305s, or porting the stock heads.
As for the lifts, the 1.6:1 rockers are fine if all you want is the little extra lift. You probably won't notice a lot of difference in power with those either, but it can't hurt. If you replace the cam, you'll be looking at springs and retainers, so the cost will increase accordingly.

the aluminum L98 heads are 58cc heads, same as the 305 so no i will not have a reductin in compression and the heads are lighter due to being aluminum, i also think that i am losing top end power because i am using stock springs, and with a port job these heads flow more than the world products heads.

Get a different cam before you add the 1.6 rockers. A cam will change the personality of the engine while the rockers will only adjust the present personality a little.
The L-98 heads have a 58 CC chamber and they will work great on a 305.

i think the personality will change with different springs too i think the ones i have are too weak. i looked at the cam card and it told me what springs to get BUT i didnt change the springs, so i might be losing power top end and thats why it stops pullin. the L98 heads are gonna be nice, swirl polished valves and a port job what u think i will get on hp ratings?

I was looking at getting the L98 aluminum head but I was told that I would have to do some pretty significant valve schroding in order for them not to hit the block? I was told this by a couple of people.
