Gonna take a guess, and throw out a no. Bumping up 160-170 horsepower is a lot to ask of an engine without throwing more displacement or a power adder. With a guesstimate (and a most likely bad one at that), I say you'll be pushing an extra 70 or 80 hp if you use the stock exhaust (which is horrible.)

You might want to modify the simple things first, before jumping into engine upgrades. Suspension in a 20 year old car is generally in need of repair, or at least maintenance. If that's not at 100%, you're losing the ability to use power your engine is making. Brakes are nice too, especially on cars that seem to have been under-braked from the factory. Making too much power with two little brake can get you killed, so you want these to be at at least 100% too. The exhaust on these cars leaves a lot to be desired as well. A set of DynoDon's headers and a good cat and catback will definitely open up a little bit of power, and can be swapped right over to a larger displacement small block.

If these things are good already (or at least good enough that you're continuing) and you're gonna drop a lot of money, you might want to look into building a mild 383 than a insane 305. Or even a hot 350. The extra cubes will make up for the fact you don't have $1600 headers, or the $500 intake base, etc. etc. You can budget parts a lot better, and get cheaper heads, or even get a Vortec intake and run some factory Vortec heads.

No way in hell. That combo might get you around 275 fly wheel. Also def throw in a full exhaust. That might net you 300 flywheel.
