Vortec base vs Regular base

Does anyone know if the SDPC or Edelbrock vortec TPI bases have taller ports where they enter the heads?

I have a set of patriot aluminum heads which can take both style of manifolds. I measured the intake ports to be about 2.09"x1.22". From searching the net I have found that the standard Edelbrock base has 1.98"x1.25" ports. The width is about right but the ports on the heads are quite a bit taller.

Does anyone know the port sizes of any of the votec TPI bases or which base will fit best?

Yes the Vortec TPI base has taller ports. I measured them to be 2.09" by 1.22", same as your heads.

Re: Vortec base vs Regular base

Thanks for the quick reply. I have been worried about what manifold i was going to use since I got the heads and realised how much taller the ports are compared to standard TPI. Than I noticed the heads are drilled for vortec manifolds as well so its all good.
